Overview
In our experience, large websites are needed by
companies that offer online ordering, extensive
information on products and services, or that
are looking for an online resource to manage data
for either internal or external use. These companies
can include hospitals, city governments, wholesalers,
retailers, manufacturers and more.
If you are looking for a large website, we suggest
that you sit down with a designer to discuss the
project in its entirety before attempting to get
a quote. Large projects often require more planning
for the development of the functionality of the
site, which will require a knowledge of the limitations
of what you may be trying to accomplish.
Large websites are more expensive because of the
amount of time that is necessary to create all
of the pages as well as plan the project. Large
sites may also include programming which will
add time and cost. |

What's Included
This type of site is used to encompass the largest
amount of design work. If you have more than 10
products or services, if you're looking for extensive
data management or a custom designed shopping
cart, most likely you will fall under this category.
Because a Large Website can include so many different
types of elements, we've listed just a few of
the possibilities below:
| |
Home Page:
This is the first page visitors will see
when they go to yourdomain.com. It usually
includes some general information about
the business and what you do. |
| |
About Us Page:
This page can have many different types
of information, but usually has a company
history, a mission statement, or information
about the company employees. |
| |
Contact Us Page:
This page contains your address, phone number,
fax number, email address and link to email
you, driving directions and a map, and possibly
a form for visitors to fill out to contact
you. |
| |
Products/Services
Main Page: For most large websites,
this would be the main page listing your
products or service which would then link
to individual pages with more information
about each one. |
| |
Database Development:
For a large amount of data organization,
a database would provide an easy way to
manage the information. Databases allow
us to use 1 piece of data in an unlimited
number of ways (such as reporting, order
processing, contact management). Customized
"Admin" pages can be created to
enter, edit, or delete information as well
as view it. Conveniently accessed through
a browser window over the Internet, additional
software does not have to be installed on
your computer and you can access the information
from anywhere using a username and password.

eCommerce Solutions:
If you are an business looking to sell your
products online, then you're looking for
an eCommerce Solution. These can be set
up in a variety of different ways, either
having a shopping cart custom developed
to your specifications or using a pre-packaged
cart such as osCommerce. Each type would
require different levels of involvement
by the developer, and we'd be happy to go
over your options with you to see which
option is the best fit for your needs and
your budget. Click

Elements that are included in the design are a
header (where your logo appears), the site navigation
usually involving JavaScript Mouseovers, a footer
area with copyright and contact information, and
